On3’s Andy Staples projects Florida State in the 12-team College Football Playoff
Florida State football is set to turn the page in the new year as the college football world introduces a new 12-team College Football Playoff. The Seminoles fan base must shake the thought of missing last year’s playoffs after the committee decided to give the one-loss Alabama Crimson Tide the nod over the undefeated Seminoles.I don’t think many people in Tallahassee will let the college football crowd forget that (with good reason). The environment in Dublin, Ireland when Florida State hosts the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets is likely to be tense. The program welcomes some newcomers making their debut with Garnet and Gold. This is a team that returns around 56% of last season’s production.Head football coach Mike Norvell understands that he wants the program to maintain continued success. It’s hard to argue with the fact that the Seminoles have a 23-4 record over the past two seasons. If any opposing fan bases point to Florida State’s loss to the Georgia Bulldogs, it’s safe to say the rivalry was deemed pointless for the team after the upset.Regardless, some people are losing faith in the program and what Mike Norvell is building in the city of Tallahassee. One such person in On3’s Andy Staples. Although he graduated from the rival Florida Gators, Staples is very high on what the Seminoles team has to offer in 2024.According to Staples, Florida State is currently the third seed. beat No. 6 Oregon and No. 11 Tennessee. It would be a great result if the Seminoles could pull off that feat.Like Staples, I believe Florida State has what it takes to succeed. However, they need to start the season on a high with wins over Georgia Tech, Boston College, Memphis, Cal and SMU before playing Clemson at home..
