Following their SEC Championship and Rose Bowl Game appearance, the Alabama Crimson Tide are determined to succeed under new head coach Kalen DeBoer.
According to recent remarks made by the new Alabama head coach, the Crimson Tide have retained retiring head coach Nick Saban as an advisor to the program. Thus far, the position seems to be a perfect fit.
Recently, in a widely circulated interview, DeBoer shared his candid opinions about Saban with the Jim Rome Show.
“He is incredible. In every aspect, he’s been extremely respectful,” DeBoer stated of the veteran shock jock radio personality.
About Saban and the head coaching job at Alabama football, DeBoer said, “He’s just been so respectful, trying to allow me to make it mine.”
DeBoer said that Saban maintains a tight relationship with the Alabama football team and referred to his presence on campus as “great.”
DeBoer said, “He’s just down the road.”
“I have, of course, visited him a few times and spoken with him over the phone.
“He’s just a great resource.”
With the addition of Big 12 powerhouses Texas and Oklahoma, the SEC Conference has unexpectedly become even more loaded with strong football teams than normal. Alabama will need to take advantage of every advantage available.
On November 23 at Norman, Oklahoma, Jalen Milroe, Coach DeBoer, and the Tide will play the Sooners. A week later, on November 24, they will play Auburn in the Iron Bowl.
