Max Verstappen branded a ‘part-time F1 driver’ as Red Bull star enters another event
Max Verstappen has been dubbed a ‘part-time driver’ after the Dutchman signed up for Jimmy Broadbent’s 23hr Race for Mental Health next month.
Verstappen is on course to pick up his fourth consecutive Drivers’ Championship title, having topped the standings for the majority of the 2024 season.
The 27-year-old boasts a 52-point lead over McLaren ace Lando Norris, who has six races left to try and mount a late title challenge.
Regardless of what takes place in the Formula One races to come, Verstappen is set to compete in a different style of event at The 23hr Race for Mental Health – an event founded by driver and content creator Broadbent.
My proudest achievement to date is that our community has raised nearly £300k for this cause…it’s hard to overstate just how much of a difference that makes.
“So on the 9th and 10th of November we’ll be returning to Zolder once again to try and survive 23 hours of chaotic multiclass action – complete with random safety cars, buyable penalties and voice chat karaoke.”
A distinct change from the hustle and bustle of the Formula One circuit Verstappen is used to.
Verstappen will have to make sure the 23-hour event doesn’t take too much out of him though, given it falls slap bang in the middle of two triple-headers.
