With the goal of reclaiming the NFC North, the Green Bay Packers will start the 2024 campaign. The Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings have won the division in recent years. This team appears to have what it takes to compete not just with teams in their division but with teams around the league.
The former defensive lineman for the Minnesota Vikings, Everson Griffen, was taken into custody in Minneapolis on suspicion of DWI with probable cause.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol report, Griffen was stopped by a trooper at approximately 11:35 p.m. on Tuesday after driving a Bentley Bentaga southbound on Interstate 35W at 50th Street in Minneapolis “at a high rate of speed.” Griffen was booked into the Hennepin County Jail at 12:59 a.m. on Wednesday.
Griffen “showed signs of impairment,” according to the report sent to Inside the Vikings, and DWI charges are still pending.
Griffen’s record includes numerous traffic infractions, including a 2023 drunk driving allegation that resulted in a plea agreement this past February.
In the plea deal, Griffen acknowledged that on July 22, 2023, he drove “carelessly” and “at a high rate of speed while weaving in and out of lanes of traffic, after consuming alcohol.” According to court filings, he was speeding in a 40 mph zone on Powers Boulevard at Utica Lane in Chanhassen at an estimated sixty miles per hour. He was also allegedly passing cars unlawfully when a deputy was trying to follow up.
