The team is searching for defensive depth in a spring league player pool that has proven fortunate in the past with additions like KaVontae Turpin in 2022 and Brandon Aubrey in 2023.
The Cowboys hosted linebackers Noah Dawkins of the Michigan Panthers, Willie Harvey Jr. of the St. Louis Battlehawks, Gareon Conley of the DC Defenders, and Deandre Baker of the DC Defenders on Tuesday.

In 2024, Harvey Jr. led the UFL league in tackles (78), tackles for loss (9) and forced fumbles (2) among linebackers. Harvey Jr. spent his first two seasons with Cleveland (2019 and 2021) as an undrafted free agent before being cut loose.

He was placed on the commissioner’s exempt list after an arrest for armed robbery during his rookie season, and the Giants dismissed him after just one season. After the allegations were eventually dropped, Baker signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he played in 10 games over the course of two seasons before breaking his femur.
With a little over a month until the team leaves for training camp in Oxnard, California, the Cowboys now have two unfilled roster spots.
