The battle between Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky and rookie Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever is unquestionably improving the WNBA as a whole these days. However, in a defeat to the latter, Robert Griffin III, a former NFL quarterback and current sports analyst, believes that her team misapplied the former.
Clark announced her candidacy for the 2024 WNBA draft, forgoing her last year of college eligibility. The Indiana Fever selected Clark on April 15th, as she was widely anticipated to be the first overall pick.
Clark, who made her WNBA debut on May 14th, had an instant impact during her first season. Ten days later, she led the Fever to their first regular season victory and achieved her first double-double as a professional.
Clark made history on May 28th when she became the first rookie to ever finish a game with 30 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, and 3 blocks. She also made history as the rookie with the fastest 50 assists and 100 points. WNBA Rookie of the Month for May went to Clark due to her explosive start, which saw her average 17.6 points, 6.6 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per game.

Clark and the Indiana Fever recently played at the Chicago Sky. Following a fierce contest, the former won 88–87 and headed home. Griffin then took a sharp stance against X regarding Clark’s usage in the closing moments.

Reese finished the game with 25 points and 16 rebounds, and Chennedy Carter added 23 points and five assists. Clark, meanwhile, led Indiana to ninth place with a record of seven wins and eleven defeats while dishing out 17 points and 13 assists.
On August 30, the two teams will play again at Indiana’s Gainbridge Fieldhouse. By then, hopefully, the Fever will have figured out how to use its highly valued rookie against Reese and company.
